Hello all!We arrived in Dushanbe, Tajikistan in the early morning hours on the 10th of January. We got hooked up to the internet today - funny story - Two non-discript Tajik men come to the gate pulling a black cord attached to a Sprite bottle - they proceed to throw it over our wall and then climb the metal bars attached to the windows to reach the roof - they run the cord in through a window after paying them for their services theyleave - a few minutes later two more non-discript me arrive and do some programing and Wala! We have the internet!!! This is going to be fun!!! I wanted to send out a quick note to let you know we are safe and everyone made the 24+hour trip well. Our house is wonderful and we have met some great people already. We are settling in and everyone thinks they will love it here! Grandpa has been a trooper during the travels and seems really happy to be here. He has traveled from the midwest to the west coast to the east coast and then made an 11 hour time change all in the past 2 weeks!! We have been out for a few walks in the neighborhood, done some shopping and had some local food - which almost everyone loved! We arrived at the house at 5am and Joe had to be at work at 8am for meetings - he is going to be busy!!!! But he seems to really enjoy it already. We are missing 3 bags from the trip, but thankfully Joe's clothes arrived. We have our first trip to the Embassy in the morning to meet with the Physicians Assistant and do some paperwork. It will be fun to see where Joe goes to work and meet some people in the office. Being a visual person, I like to have a picture in my mind of where he is and be able to put a face with a name when he tells us about people. The kids are gong to get a blog going soon with our adventures. Can't wait to hear from you all and set up some Skype dates! Love, Jen
